Appendicitis WBC: Practitioners traditionally look for an elevated WBC count as evidence for appendicitis. That is all. Sed rate will elevate too.

Maybe: Early on is in the course of the process the blood work is more than likely normal. As the appendix get more inflamed there is more risk of infection and the WBC (white blood cell count) may go up.
