A member asked:

When should a woman schedule an appointment with the gynecologist? how often?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Health plan: A woman's health plan will determine, how often she can see a gynecologist for "routine" visits, like screening for cervical cancer (pap smears), screening for sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhea, chlamydia in particular), and screening for breast cancer. It used to be once a year across all age groups, lately there is a trend to test more according to age and likely risk.
