Paresthesia is the : medical term for tingling, prickling or burning sensations. It can be temporary, from pressure on a nerve or as nerves re-connect after surgery. It can also be from nerve damage from tethering of the spinal cord, attachment of the cord to the spinal column, in a child or adult with Spina Bifida. Your neurologist or neurosurgeon may order an MRI & other studies after clinical evaluation.
