Ear pit: If there is just a small hole, the condition is called a pre-auricular pit. These are congenital, meaning that you were born with it. This is not a serious condition, but these can get infected. Many people have them and have no problems with them at all. If they get infected recurrently, we generally recommend having them excised or removed. They can be removed before they get infected, too.
