Can lidocaine during a cyst removal on the neck cause any issues? my dr says hes afraid to do it so close to my head and wanted to ask a neurosurgeon. im confused. i didnt think side effects from that were that serious?

Local infiltration with Lidocaine is usually not an issue. Apparently your physician is concerned about the injection site and its proximity to certain nerves. Allow your physician to be confident about the surgery and how to proceed.

Would suggest if you wish expertise on the removal of a cyst on the superficial neck, you find a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon. If there is a deep lesion near the vertebral column, then would consider a neurosurgeon.
