A member asked:

I took tylenol (acetaminophen) before drinking alcohol. is this serious? should i be concerned?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Not if you took 2 plain or even extra-strength acetaminophen, and even if you got drunk. However, REGULAR use of tylenol, even in therapeutic doses (2 grams or less per day, 4 grams at MOST), together with REGULAR use of alcohol, can cause toxicity and damage the liver. If you take a VERY large amount of tylenol, alcohol can make that more toxic and likely to cause liver damage.
