A member asked:

How serious does an injury need to be to warrant crutches/wheelchair?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Moderate or more: Crutches are used to offweight one or both legs, by carrying some weight thought the trunk. Think ankle fracture, or severe knee problem. Wheelchair use is limited to severe balance problems , if unable to bear weight on the legs , or severe spine disease affecting posture and walking ability.
