Filling with amalgam can definitely be replaced with tooth colored restorations. Be aware though, that after replacement, the teeth may be sensitive for awhile due to the procedures.

However, they are safe and durable choice. Most research finds no relationship between fillings and symptoms of mercury poisoning or other side effects.. See your dentist for evaluation, x-rays and treatment if needed.
