Relax: You are not going to be poisoned. A small filling will pass harmlessly without any problems. Fyi, silver fillings have been used for over 150 years without any documented ill effects. If you would feel better about it, you can go get your stomach pumped, but it must be done quickly otherwise the filling will pass into your intestines.

No worry: Amalgam is very safe material. Most research finds no relationship between fillings and symptoms of mercury poisoning or other side effects. Eventually, any cavity if not treated, can lead to pain, infection, root canal and even tooth loss. See your dentist for evaluation, x-rays and treatment.
