Some assoc w stroke: There are many answers to this. For one, strokes are related to other conditions, like high blood pressure and diabetes. Second, strokes may occur with heart disease as they have similar risk factors. Third, strokes that affect mobility put us at risk of other conditions, such as DVT and pressure sores. Strokes are also associated with depression, especially when people do not recover well.
