Watch for yellowing of the skin and eyes, but carotenemia tends to be an orange hue of the skin. Use a variety of fruits and vegetables in the diet and review sources of protein at age six months with your Pediatrician. Nursing is the best nutrition, but as the baby grows there is a need for sources of vitamins and minerals which are found in other food groups.

It is a transient cosmetic effect that disappears when the skin thickens with age and the kids diet changes. It is not harmful to baby.
