It isnt: Luvox (fluvoxamine) is not fda approved as an antidepressant in the us because it would be too costly for the drug companies to do the studies to get this apprivoal. Luvox (fluvoxamine) is approved for social anxiety and OCD and is also generic so there is also no financial gain to do any more studies.

It's available: In may 2002, the Luvox brand was temporarily withdrawn from the us market after an fda request to review data concerning the chemistry, manufacturing and control section of the new drug application. In december 2007, the fda re-issued approval of Luvox for the treatment of ocd. They won't be re-marketing it, but Luvox (and also generic fluvoxamine) is available in the usa.
