My levels for my baso are 1.4, what is this and what could cause it and is it in a danger zone

Basophils: these are one of the cells that are measured when you have a CBC. They are mostly involved with allergic reactions, and bring anticoagulants to inflamed tissue. This count is a little high, but without knowing why you got this blood test and your clinical history and symptoms I can't comment on what it means.

Not necessarily: A Complete Blood Count measures both the percentage and absolute number of the various types of white blood cells in circulation. A level of 1.4% basophils is normal; an absolute count of 1.4 per microliter of blood is high. Please resubmit your question with this information, along with the reason your basophil count may be of concern. Then, we can answer your question. Thanks!

Need a bit more info: Before you panic, your level is only slightly elevated, normal basophil count is 0.5 -1% . This is within the range of error(it's a Bell Curve and they have to draw the line for upper and lower limits..There will always be normal patients a little high or low.) If the ABSOLUTE Bas.(AB) exceeds 200/microL it's elevated.(WBC x 0.014) = yours. Example: if your total WBC=8,000 then YOUR AB=112(normal)
