Miscarriage: Poor progesterone production by the ovary may cause early miscarriage. At 10 weeks of pregnancy progesterone compounds are given until the placenta makes enough to sustain the pregnancy. This will not damage the pregnancy, so even if not "necessary" (if your ovary is already making enough) it is OK and you should not worry.
