Inflammatory brst ca: Inflammatory breast cancer occurs suddenly, with discoloration, pain, numbness, bruising, swelling or itching. Mammograms are often negative-- tumor cells grow in a sheet and don't form a lump. It is very fast-growing and spreads quickly. Immediate chemotherapy is needed. If there has been no injury to the breast, a numb discolored area should be seen immediately by a doctor. Ask about IBC.
