Must rule out IBC: Inflammatory breast cancer can cause breast pain, redness, swelling, numbness or discoloration. Mammograms are often negative because the tumor cells grow in a sheet and don't form a lump. It is very fast-growing and spreads quickly. Immediate chemotherapy is needed. Many doctors have not seen IBC, so bring it up as a possibility when you are seen. Make an appointment right away.
