It's VERY complex: As you know, all your follicles existed in your ovaries when you were born. But triggers and hormones and other factors interact in a complex way to stimulate them to mature to a functional egg. Clomid (clomiphene) helps with this, but deficiency of estrogen among MANY other factors influences. Reproductive endocrinologists are best able to recommend changes in ovulation stimulation protocol when this occurs.
