A member asked:

What could cause a small amount of bright red blood in phlegm? no fever or chills

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BRB in phlegm: Blood could come from anywhere along the respiratory tract from the nose down to the smallest airway. Depending upon your general health, the best option might be to monitor for recurrence. Discuss with your doc at next visit.
