Hemoptysis: Hi, a forceful cough can rupture small blood vessels and cause hemoptysis (blood in sputum), so the most common cause is a Bronchitis (therefore X-ray would be normal), other causes Bronchiectasis (a chronic dilatation of small airways leading to infection), Pneumonia, Tuberculosis and cancer. If your X-ray is normal then Allergy, Bronchitis, bleeding from ur gum could be the reasons.
