Abdominal pain: May still have constipation after the enema. Sometimes it takes weeks of treatment with Miralax (polyethylene glycol) to combat it. Best not to give any more enemas at home, but to see the pediatrician to ask for a referral to a pediatric gastroenterology specialist, in case there may be something else in addition to constipation causing pain.
