Pinworms: Where is he scratching? Anal itching can be caused by pinworms that lay eggs around the anus at night. Take a piece of clear scotch tape to his anal area, put it into a ziplock bag, and take it and your child to the pediatrician for treatment. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pinworm/basics/prevention/con-20027072
