? Meds: It is possible that he may have been given medications that cause the release of histamine a body substance that causes itching. Since the surgery was today, call his surgeon and let him know. All the best.

Benadryl (diphenhydramine): Most likely it is either the antibiotic or the pain medicine simply stop all the medicine and give him 25 mg of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and repeat every six hours you might have to call the surgeon in the morning to report the incident and to order different kind of medicine to replace the antibiotic and the pain medicine . If become worst or start having any breathing problem of course take him to ER right away
