YES: Typical course of Accutane is 5 months. Usually the acne is clearing by the 3rd month. At that time you no longer need the doryx (doxycycline). Most people prefer the generic Doxycycline in a low dose because it costs so much less than the brand "doryx (doxycycline)". Most people need little or no treatment after a course of accutane. The brand "accutane" has been dropped and replaced by generic isotretinoin.
