Viral: Viral gastrointestinal infection is very likely in your case and it usually runs its course in several days requiring no specific treatment except light diet,good fluid intake and Tylenol (acetaminophen). It may take longer for the fatigue to resolve,however.

Gastroenteritis: Flu doesn't cause gastrointestinal symptoms. Viral gastroenteritis will. Drink plenty of fluids. If you are nauseated take sips of water and ice chips. As your nausea improves add other fluids like broth and jello. Advance diet gradually with bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. You'll be better in 2-3 days. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Possible: It is possible you have the flu. How many days of symptoms? Take antipyretics for fever, rest, drink lots of fluids. If fever persists > 48 hrs or if vomiting, dehydrated, difficulty breathing then see physician
