Speak: Speak with your doctor about stopping tramadol. One can have withdrawal symptoms if you abruptly stop taking this medicine. One option is to slowly start taking smaller doses, there are also medications that can assist with the withdrawal process.

Work with her PCP: She needs to figure out a plan to wean herself off of a medication like this. Her primary care doctor should be able to help her through this. Also, she'll need a back up plan, if the pain she is treating with the tramadol worsens.

Find Homegoing PT'er: I happen to make house calls to over 80% of my practice and I make it a point to find rehab people who also will make house calls. Medicare pays for home services so I would seek someone out who makes house calls. You should then, also have a caregiver (if you can't be the one) who can be at home with the patient to help reinforce and practice the exercises on the off days.
