Coughing: Coughing can be caused from several different factors. With your age I would be interested in your medications, smoking history, cardiac history, any esophageal reflux, any allergy symptoms. So with all that being said, you need to follow up with your PCP.

Swallowing issue,: post-nasal drainage, vocal cord dysfunction, medication side effect, gastroesophageal reflux are possible answers. If you are taking a blood pressure medication in the ACE inhibitor category, ask your doctor to change it. See your primary care doctor, or if you already have and this is still happening, ask for a referral to an ENT specialist.
