Hard to answer: If you have been in the hospital for a week, the usual causes have probably been addressed, but include pancreatitis, gall bladder disease, peptic ulcer, kidney stone or infection. Without examining you and reviewing all your test results it's almost impossible to add to what you already know. Talk with your doctors, ask for a GI and an Endocrinology consult if not already done. Good luck!

Any trauma?: The intense pain may be related to trauma or exercise--is it constant or present in a particular position. Have they done a CT to look at your aorta-blood vessel? Without knowing what tests were already done, I think your workup should include CT, chest film, urine study and screening blood tests. Timing of your last period or ? of pregnancy prior to any x-ray. Feel better.
