Yes: You need a complete examination of the shoulder. Your Doctor should start with a physical examination and then an x-ray. If your shoulder is as unstable as you describe, then you will probably need an MRI for further evaluation. If your Doctor is not a specialist, then he or she can recommend a good Orthopedic Doctor or specialist for you.
