Yes: Yes, ovarian cancer is a disease which can strike women, usually after menopause. Bloating or pelvic discomfort is a common symptom. Unfortunately, (unlike cervical cancer) there is no screening test shown to reduce mortality of the disease. Women with family history of early onset (age <50) breast cancer or of ovarian cancer at any age may have genetic risk due to abnoslity of gene BRCA.
