Yes: It's actually expected that you'll be interested in and involved with your baby. Most nicus encourage you to hold skin-to-skin (kangaroo care), feed, change diapers, etc. When appropriate. Many nicus have "private rooms" in which you can even spend the night, though parents should pace themselves and be sure to take appropriate breaks from the nicu for their own health/well-being.
