Yes: The strength of your pulse is often unrelated to the actual blood pressure. This variance is even greater as we age. The intensity of the pulse can also be affected by thyroid disease, anemia, aortic regurgitation and exercise. Also, the farther you are from the heart, the less the pulse accurately correlates with the heart's output. So, the neck pulse correlates better than the wrist pulse.
