Jaw dropping: Symptoms are consistent with something called TMJ. It comes from malalignment yet you all and joint where it opens. Best to have this evaluated by either the dentist or ENT physician. Maybe something very simple which requires an adjustment which can be done in an office or may require an orthodontic brace. Have you had any injury to the area? Have you been grinding your teeth? The sooner you are evaluated the easier it will be to correct the problem
