Carafate (sucralfate) time: Excellent question! Since Carafate (sucralfate) functions to coat the lining of the upper GI tract and prevent it from further damage, it would be advisable to take it before ibuprofen, aspirin or other NSAID drugs as these are known to irritate the stomach lining.
