How do you explain the difference between a body focused repetitive behavior disorder and an ocd relying mostly on compulsion? what distinguishes it?

Dr. Bernard Seif answered

Any excessive: thinking (obsession) or behaviors (compulsions) that interfere w/function or comfort in life could be considered negative. "Positive addictions" is a term coined by Wm. Glasser, MD, and has to do w/behaviors we enjoy that are non competitive (even w/oneself). These can include, running, sports, paying an instrument, etc. A mental health pro can help, not drugs only. Peace and good health.
