Can a ekg and an echo and a nuclear stress test properly diagnose heart problems?

Depends: "Heart problems" can mean different things. EKG and nuclear stress test are used to look for blockages in the vessels in your heart. They can tell you if you've had significant prior heart attacks, if the electrical rhythm is normal, and if the heart works well under stress. The echo is great at making sure all chambers of the heart move and pump well and that all the valves are working properly.

Heart Tests: EKG is a tracing of the electrical activity of the heart. Echocardiogram is an ultrasound evaluation of the heart and used to evaluate how the heart walls move as well as the valves. Nuclear stress test is used to determine perfusion of the muscles of the heart usually at rest and at stress. So, all three are heart tests. But, not the only tests used to evaluate the heart.

Many but not all: The combination that you describe can diagnose many heart issues, but you may need further tests depending on the concerns. An evaluation of longer term heart rhythms can be done with either a Holter monitor or an Event monitor, Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, tilt table testing, etc may be indicated depending on your symptoms.
