Get tested: Make sure your doctor sent a urinalysis along with a urine culture and that you know which bacteria is being treated with the antibiotic, as well as making sure that the bacteria is actually sensitive to the antibiotic you are taking. Sometimes bacteria are resistant to specific antibiotics. You should also be tested for STDs to be complete since UTIs in men are more rare.
