Recommended: There is no evidence that Crest 3D White Whitestrips is harmful when used during pregnancy. The whitening material has been proven to kill the bacteria that cause gum disease as well as tooth decay. Always check with your doctor before using Crest 3D White Whitestrips or any other OTC products.

Cosmetic Procedure: It may be better to wait. According to the American Dental Association website: "Similar to other dental and medical interventions, questions have been raised about the safety of tooth whitening treatments during pregnancy. In the absence of such evidence, clinicians may consider recommending that tooth whitening be deferred during pregnancy." http://www.ada.org

Safe: Of course these materials have not been clinically tested on pregnant women, so they are labeled as not having been tested or ask your OB/GYN. I have spoken with doctors and if the strips are used after the first trimester, there should be little danger to your baby as the active ingredient breaks down into water and oxygen. But check with your OB first.
