Usually ok, but...: If the expiration date on a tablet (pill) medication is October 2017, and it is now February 2018, it is usually fine to use the medication. Factors to consider include: how the medication was stored, if it has been opened already, whether it is a liquid, a cream, or a solid pill; etc... For example, a medicinal cream stored in the glove box of a hot car for 3 months might not be good anymore.

Depends: Crestor prevents heart attacks and other harmful effects, so either way, keep taking the medicine. The expiration date indicates time where the drug may have lost 10% of its potency. After that, it goes further downhill and no one can guarantee how much it’s working. If you can afford new medicine, that is the best option.
