Blood vessels: Hemorrhoids are related to outpouchings of blood vessels near the anus. There are 2 kinds, internal and external. The external variety usually causes more symptoms. They can often be treated by eliminating constipation, but if this does not help there are operations to remove them. Sometimes they also occur during pregnancy, and go away afterwards.
