Pain: From hemorrhoids is usually due to an external hemorrhoid issue. If they are just swollen, bed rest for 24-48 hours and warm tub soaks work best. If it is thrombosed or clotted, seeing a colorectal surgeon to incise and drain will get the most prompt response. Be sure your pain is not due to an anal fissure as that is sometimes present and needs different treatment.
