Posterior knee veins: Besides the small saphenous vein behind the knee, other veins that can be seen or felt would be spider veins or branches of the small or great saphenous veins. Occasionally accessory veins such as the anterior or posterior collateral veins can extend to the below posterior knee area as well as the Vein of Giacomini which connects the great and small saphenous veins.
