Care with laxatives: This is often a challenging problem. It is likely aggravated by supplemental iron you are taking because you are anemic or iron in your prenatal vitamin. Do as much water as you can, add daily walking exercise of 45 minutes. A low dose of milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) may help. Talk with your doctor about switching to a lower dose supplement or taking vitamins with DHA, a nutrient that's also a stool softener.
