Good question: Statin drugs can raise good cholesterol, but lowering your LDL cholesterol with medication is more important. Raising your HDL with medication does not offer the same benefit. The best approach to raising it is exercise. Even 20 minutes of walking a day will increase your HDL, and benefit your heart, blood pressure and general health.
