Kasabach-Merritt: is a consumptive coagulopathy, in which platelets are sequestered in a rapidly enlarging hemangioma, resulting in low platelet counts and abnormal bleeding. This is most common in infants, and usually does not impact RBC counts in the absence of excessive blood loss. If your platelet counts were normal, this is not an issue you are likely to have.
