A Pain In The Neck: Injections of steroids into and around the joints in the neck can temporarily relieve the pain. There are specific indications and contraindications for the procedure so make sure your doctor discusses this with you and is qualified to do those kinds of injections. They are not a magic cure but can help for a while, in some people for a long while if repeated every several months.
