What is good for an allergic reaction from the shingle vaccine?

Antihistamine: benadryl (diphenhydramine) - taken orally, should calm down the inflammation, although cooling, topical steroids, or just time and patience will resolve the issue. In severe allergic reactions, an IM shot of epinephrine is helpful to decrease the inflammatory cascade and prevent anaphylaxis. I suggest you go to the doctor or nurse that gave you the shot, and see what they recommend...

What kind?: I have not seen an allergic reaction to Shingles vaccine yet. Is this anything more than a large local reaction? Does it itch? If it is just a local reaction, ice pack and NSAID would likely help. At times , a short course of cortisone may be needed. However since the type of reaction is unknown, this is at best a guess.
