Talking is good thng: The fact that he is talking is a good thing in that he is less likely to act. Take him to an emergency room. Does he know anyone who has committed suicide? If so, that is more dangerous. Get him help as soon as possible!

Suicide Prevention!!: Thanks for asking.You're a good friend.First,keep checking up on him maybe twice a day.Let him talk to you.But if he is really talking a lot about it,especially if he has a plan,he needs immediate intervention by a specialist.Try and take him to the ER to be evaluated. If he resists,call a suicide hotline for help and they'll talk with him.Do everything you can to get him evaluated. 911 if needed!
