Yes, but...: Bipolar disorder is an episodic illness with periods of being essrntially "normal" in between manic and depressive episodes Some form of mood stabilizer is imperative and part of a healthy lifestyle in most cases to prevent and/or attenuate degree of dysfunctional mood and affect. Also if associated with psychotic features a med with antipsychotic effects may improve lifestyle
