Bipolar/Schizoaffect: In schizoaffective do, there needs to be at least 2 weeks of psychosis without the mood disorder component. In bipolar, psychotic symptoms are part of the mood state.

They're similar: The difference is that with schizoaffective d/o. A person has a period of having psychosis during a time when their mood is stable. With bipolar psychosis-the person is only psychotic during the period of time when they have a disturbance of their mood as well.
