There is no evidence: that marijuana is harmful to kidneys, and even some anecdotal evidence that it may be helpful in rare cases. However, if you are hoping for a transplant, be aware that some transplant centers will do drug testing prior to accepting you, and may NOT accept you if you are positive for cannabis. If you are in a medical marijuana state, you can look into this, but am not sure it would make difference

Maybe: You are 19 and if on dialysis you should pursue a Kidney transplant. Most transplant centers may insist patient don't smoke marijuana. There is some risk of lung infection in patients with decreased immune system. Suggest purse a transplant. Best of luck. unos.org
